Anyone whit reccurent genital herpes gave birth without medicine?

Hi.
Did any of you ladies have genital herpes and gave birth vaginally witouth taking medicine to prevent an outbreak during labour? Plese give me details, how did you manage it, is baby ok?

Why would you do that? What’s your reasoning behind not taking medicine basically

I’d take the medicine gives the baby 99% chance of not getting I believe. If that’s not an option for you I’d opt for the c section. Herpes can be fatal to a new born

No why would you do that? I took my medicine religiously when they gave it to me. When in labor I had them check every time to make sure there were no lesions (I knew there weren’t but I was being neurotic). My daughter is perfectly healthy but I never would’ve risked her health. If you can’t take the medicine opt for a c-section just to be safe. The medicine helps ensure you don’t have breaks or shed which is just as contagious.
