Overly affectionate toddler?
My 2.5 year old has recently become very interested in friends, play dates, etc. I’m a stay at home mom so she’s not in any daycare and gets most of her social interaction with other children from our weekly activities and then parks/playgrounds.
Whenever we arrive to a new place, she always sets out to find a friend and will immediately want to hold their hand to walk around and give a hug and proceeds to continue tons of hugs and handholding throughout our time there. It’s really cute when she finds another kid who’s into their very affectionate friendship, but also heartbreaking when she comes across one who is totally uninterested 😂.
We practice attachment parenting and give her lots of affection as long as she wants it, but I’m worried her seeking of friends and affection means she’s not getting enough at home??
Does anyone else have a super affectionate toddler? Is this normal? Is she missing something in her home life that I need to work on?
