Pumping question,

I noticed when I’m pumping I have to squeeze my boobs while pumping to get milk out to see my let downs. Am I doing something wrong?! :( I’m barely getting anything unless I squeeze them.

Edit : my little one was born at 23 weeks so I can’t feed him directly yet.
