I love you

So. I've been dating this guy. And I love him. Oh God I do. But we're about to be apart for who knows how long, we go to different colleges. I want to tell him I love him... Just I am hesitant because of the distance that's about to happen. Should I tell him? Or not? Also, when would be a good time? The only time I have before with a guy, he said it first on accident and we talked about it later and I said I loved him too.

I posted this in sex & relationships because I have almost said it during sex a few times. And I don't know if that's the time to say it for the first time or not. But I almost said it yesterday when him and I were on a cute date.
