How much does your SO help with baby?

Stay at home moms how much does your SO help with baby? My husband works 12 hour days and has to wake up at 3 am every morning so I feel bad asking for help with the baby . When I do ask he WILL help but he rarely OFFERS . Giving baby bath , taking baby so I can just have a breather or do some laundry, putting baby to bed at night etc, never happens. Does it make sense for him to bring in the money and me take care of the baby or do y’all think he should be helping more . I don’t know but I feel bad asking when he’s been working all day long 😫

My husband does not ‘help.’  He parents!!!! He is working for us all when he is at work AND he is my partner when he gets home from work.

When my husband is home he does half of everything. We look at it like this: my current job is being the only parent when my husband is at work. I would have a job if we didn’t have our daughter. It is a full time, exhausting JOB. Yes, I get a break when she naps from 12:30-2:30, but he gets a lunch break for an hour plus a break on his commute (30 mins each way), so we’re equal there. When he gets home he does half of everything; parenting, housework, cooking, etc. We both wanted children and we both had fun making them; he is every bit as much her parent as I am when he’s home.

It’s his baby too. He could maybe start getting baby ready for bed by giving bath and reading story, feeding them.

My SO comes home from work at midnight, gets up with the baby the rest of the night and let's me sleep, takes turns cleaning/taking care of the baby in the morning and then goes back to work. On weekends he works 12 hour shifts, so he comes home and gets up with the baby, takes a nap in the morning while I watch the baby and then goes back to work. We tag team baths, and share work like laundry and dishes. My SO is amazing and I fully realize how lucky I am. He honestly spoils me.

My husband also works 12 hour days and wakes up at 4-5am every morning. He gets home around 5pm and when he gets home, he takes our son to play or watch tv so I can get dinner together. (I enjoy the second to myself even if its just heating up our dinner). We all eat. Sometimes we will all go to the park or swim depending on energy. It’s really the only family time we get besides weekends. More often than not we’ll just relax or play in the living room. My husband takes our son upstairs and puts him to bed and then goes to sleep himself around 8/9. This is when I finally get my time alone to shower, clean, shop.... whatever I want. I usually go to bed myself around 12/1am and wake up with my son around 8/9am. It works for us. On the weekends, for the most part, my husband does majority of taking care of our son. To give me a break and because he enjoys fathering him and wishes he could be home to do it more.

My baby daddy and I are equal partners and we both do our share with our kid (soon to be kids since I’m expecting #2). When our daughter was little he would do a bit of everything aside from feeding because I exclusively breastfeed. For a while he was nervous about bathing her but he got over that as she got bigger. But diapers, rocking her to sleep (this is definitely his territory, he brags he’s the best baby rocker), reading books, playing, even getting up in the middle of the night to put her back to sleep after a feeding. And it’s not just caring for the child, he does his share around the house as well. He cooks, washes dishes, does the floors, puts away the laundry, etc. He works a standard 8 hr day 5 days a week and I’m a stay at home mom. We’ve even talked about trading roles as I miss working but right now it’s just not realistic since I’m pregnant and will exclusively breastfeed this child as well.

I’m a stay at home mom so I take care of our baby when he’s at work but then when he gets home he normally is the one to do naptime, change diapers and he always puts him to bed every night, and he also gets up in the middle of the night if he were to wake up. He likes helping and I don’t take it for granted😌

He helps a lot. He leaves for work between 5:30 a and 6a and gets home around 4 and as soon as he gets home and washes up I hand her over lol! She only wants me when shes sleeps so 9 times out of 10 I have to put her to sleep. But he'll help with dishes, laundry, cooking, our kids but I have noticed I have ask he usually doesn't just do it lol

My husband works 12-hour days as well and today will be his 15th day in a row that he has work because he has a second job as well everyday my husband feeds my daughter dinner every night they have a snack together before they go to sleep and every night she will lay in bed with her dad and they will watch something or play a little game on her tablet she is 15 months old it's something that they do in my daughter expects and always looks forward to I try not to bother my husband that much either because he works but at the same time this is his daughter as well he offers a lot and does it because it's his baby so don't feel bad asking your husband for help although he has a job your job never end you are on call 24/7 and he needs to take that into consideration to not saying that he not wanting to help you but helping you a little bit more would be nice because I'm sure at his job he gets lunch breaks and regular breaks and you get no break unless baby is asleep you need mommy time to
