MIL rant
Does anyone elses in-laws/ elders suggest alcohol as a cure for everything? When I was pregnant my MIL told me to drinknsome wine if my baby was keeping me up at night with her kicking. (I didn't because I much rather be kept up by that than worry if I drank too much and did harm). Then the other day we were visiting family and my LO was DONE for the night. I was trying to settle her so my husband could spend a little bit more time with his foster bother and my MIL told me I could drink some wine and then nurse my LO and it will help her sleep. I flatly told her I'm not going to drink to put my baby to sleep. She was over stimulated and in a different place and I literally have no issues getting her to sleep at home. The second we got in the car to go home she was asleep and happy. Lastly my husband was talking about when LO starts to teeth she told us to take alcohol (I think she said whiskey) and rub it on baby's gums.
There's already tension between me and his side of the family so I'm trying not to snap and be rude and my MIL isn't an alcoholic but I'm so tired of hearing her suggest alcohol to "fix" whatever "issue" my LO is having.
End rant 🤣
