I need help! First time using

Idk if this is the right place to post this but I need help. Apparently I developed a yeast infection the day after my period ended and it has been literal hell! I called my gyno and the nurse said to get monistat 7 and it should take care of it. Has anyone used this before? If so how long does it take to get relief? I had thought about also purchasing AZO yeast infection pills but I don't know if it will be too much. I've had a yeast infection in the past and I believe I was given a pill by my doctor to clear it but my memory is so shot I can't remember. I do remember how it felt and whatever is going on now is hell compared to the first time. Is there anything I can do to get instant relief?
