Is your baby progressing more physically or verbally?

All our babies are developing at their own rates, and it’s not a race. I’m just curious how many babies seem to be progressing more with verbal skills vs. physical skills. (Gender thrown in to test the “theory” that girls are more verbal and boys more physical earlier on)

It’s actually the opposite where girls tend to be more advanced physically at first! Except boys who are on the smaller and shorter side may pass physical milestones pretty early on.
But even so, girls and boys can still develop at different rates. Also big babies tend to be slower in the physical development (for obvious reasons) especially if they have been consistently big since birth. I’ve seen this too with all my family members and friends babies. The smaller ones always sat up, crawled, and walked way before the big chunkers 🤣

My boy is all physical. In the last few weeks he has mastered crawling (on hands and knees), he can get from his back or tummy into a seated position on his own and pulls to stand every chance he gets. He also just learned how to gently get back to sitting from a standing position. He can climb onto low objects, has started cruising around furniture and is now trying to stand without holding anything. I do think he will be an early walker. 
Verbally, he babbles a lot but mostly vowel sounds and no actual words except “mama” which he only says mimicking his older brother.

My baby just babbles and growls. Will occasionally say Mama. I didn't realize they were supposed to be talking yet...😰

My boy is a talker (says around 10 words including some phrases) and is not crawling or pulling himself up to stand yet. Both my daughters were early talkers as well but both were crawling by this age. I never crawled as a baby. Some babies don’t.

Boy but he has definitely been ultra focused on physical progression. Sat unassisted at 20wks, pulling to standing around the same time, crawling at 33 weeks, and now standing and trying to walk😩he is just now beginning to truly babble again, only one word so far.

With my four children I have found that gender didn’t really play a role but my kids did one or the other. My first 3 were very mobile at a young age (walking before 10 months) but didn’t really start saying a lot of words until 8-10 months and even then it was only Mama, dada, baba, hi. My Nov baby hardly does anything. She sits unsupported, rolls, and is trying to crawl but she has been saying words since she was 4-5 months old.

Daughter will be 8 months on the 26th- can crawl, pull herself up to a sitting and standing position, stand holding onto something.... babbles a ton “mama dada blabla” claps and points.
