Milk Supply Issues! Need help fast please!

Andie

Hi all!! 🥰🥰

So recently I had to take an oral corticosteroid for a severe allergic reaction/rash I had. While I was on it for 8 days, I had to dump the milk I made per the instructions of my doctor.

The medicine caused a huge decline in my milk supply. I went from pumping 30oz per day, to pumping 12-15 oz per day. During the time I was taking the medication, my son went through about 75% of my freezer stash of milk. I did the math, and based on what he eats and what I’m pumping everyday, I only have 2-3 more days until my freezer stash is gone and I’ll only have what little I pump to feed him. He eats 30oz a day, and I’m making 12-15oz. He eats a little bit of purées and finger foods, he just hasn’t been very interested in them, so that’s not enough food to make up for the 15 oz (3 bottles) that I’ll be missing.

A week ago I bought a couple of lactation supplements that I’ve been trying. My supply has increased only 1-2 oz total for the day since I started. I’ve also been pumping every 2 hours for 20 minutes each time (I was doing every 3-4 hours before the meds) to try and get more of a demand going.

Anyone have any luck with increasing your supply?? Any suggestions will help!! I’m starting to get really nervous and the thought of me not making enough is super scary to me. Thank you all so much!! 😘💕Much love!
