Cervix check?

Just wonder how many weeks everyone was when they got their cervix checked? I’m 37 weeks and had a dr apt today and still haven’t had it done. I have so much pressure I can barely walk or sit. Everything is uncomfortable. I don’t know how much longer I can go.

Just got mine checked for the first time yesterday at 39+2 - I’ve had so much pressure down there but I was not dilated or thinned out at all! Totally discouraged and thought I’d be at least 3 🤷🏼‍♀️
My doctor said they wait to check because being dilated doesn’t mean anything really. You can be dilated for weeks with no progression.

I got my first cervix check at 36 weeks & each week after.

My doctor's office waits for us to ask. I didn't know until I asked them when they did and they said they wanted to wait until we felt comfortable.

36+5, still haven't been checked. Even after having a NST on friday that showed contractions every 2-4 minutes, that weren't painful.

I got mine at 36 weeks and I was 2 cm dilated.

i got mine done at 37wks bc i was having contractions. she said she could fit a fingertip in. she’ll be checking me again at my 38week appt too.

I think most doctors are leaving it up to the mommas to chose. Mine have asked if I’d like one and I said yes because I’m curious. One at 37 weeks (0cm), one at 38 weeks (1cm), and one at 39 weeks (1.5cm). The second one was painful and I was spotting for a few days afterward.

I asked to get checked at 35 weeks. And have been every week since. To make sure head is down & to see if I’ve dilated since last time 😂

I don’t get checked till after 40weeks. Dilation isn’t a great indication of labor being near. They’re unnecessary unless for medical reasons. They could cause unnecessary stress- spotting/cramping, introduce bacteria and stress mamas out if not “progressing”.
