Fan with newborn

I need some guidance here since my husband is being a stubborn ass. I had my baby 5 days ago. On her discharge papers it said to sleep with the fan on because it prevents SIDS. We saw the pediatrician the other day she said the same thing. He never slept with the fan on before even tho I get hot easily. He’s a selfish person who cares more about himself than me or his own daughter apparently. He just said to me people have been having babies for thousands of years and didn’t have a fan on. So now because he’s unwilling to just give in and listen to what the doctor and AAP is recommending I’ll just be up all night staring at her making sure she’s ok. Is there anyone who doesn’t sleep with a fan on ? Has anyone heard of this before?? I don’t know what to do.
