Baby talk

Ok so when did your kids start saying actual words? My daughter is a little over a year old now and she doesnt say much. She'll do the occasional mama and dada but it's never really towards us. Just like shes still babbling. I have some mom friends whose kids are actually saying a few words at this point and its starting to worry me. We talk to her a lot and I pretend like we are holding conversations so she understands what's happening but even if i try to get her to copy me on something she'll just smile or walk away
