He says it's my fault he got arrested

My daughter's father and I got in a big fight about a month and a half ago which caused me to leave him.

During the fight- he called me names, punched a hole in our wall, threw my things, then called me repeatedly after I left to get me to come back. He started getting rude and putting my things outside. I called the police just to get an escort so I didn't have to deal with him, but they decided to arrest him given what has happened. I did NOT want him to get in trouble.

He could be in a lot of trouble and have domestic violence on his record now. He's completely blaming me and saying I acted like a child and just had my feelings hurt.

Is this my fault? What do I do? I feel so beyond terrible. I need advice please, I dont want to blame myself.
