Restraining Order in Texas

What all information would need to be provided to get a restraining order against someone in Texas?

The couple is married and the wife is wanting to leave. She fears her husband will become violent and/or try to kidnap her daughter from school. (She would take their 19-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter with her.)

She revealed today that her husband has been physically violent with her before, but the incident she referred to was 10+ years ago. She does have some texts from him that seem threatening. There were many more but she used to delete them when she wanted to pretend everything was fine.

I have already spoken with the daughter’s school, and they cannot prevent a parent from taking a child out of school unless there is legal paperwork on file saying they cannot.
