Best ways to keep the romance alive?

I've been married 4 years, together almost 8. We are very happy and very in love but I'm thinking for the future. I'm wondering what you do to keep the romance alive.
I try being spontaneous sometimes (both sexually and in other fun things)
I try to use pet names and compliment him regularly.
I try to keep myself pretty and do my part around the house.
(He does a lot of things to keep the romance alive too, but I'm just thinking of things I can add into my toolbox)

Last week I met an older woman who had been married for 31 years, I asked her what her secret was after having two kids. She told me “this is going to sound crazy I know but having sex every day is what kept my marriage alive.” I then told her “okay give me something else a bitch is tired” lmao

It’s the small things I find. He likes to come home to a nice house.and welcoming arms. 
Me  personally I will have dinner ready when he walks thru the door. I will look nice and neat. A smile definitely helps. I know he has had a rough day. I don’t work so I am more than willing to do everything at home. I welcome him home and ask him if he wants a beer or a coffee. He will choose. I ask how his day was. We sit for a few minutes while he drinks his beer or coffee. A moment for him to just stop.  Usually I know what sort of mood he is in because he rings me before coming home. So I adjust accordingly. Sometimes I will even greet him at the door with a special outfit on if I know he has had a rough day. It doesn’t always lead to sex but I know it cheers him up.
