💙The Birth of My Son💙
His birth was so amazing! I went in on the 13th to get induced around 5pm and the doctor's plan was to do an internal medication every 4 hours to try and soften my cervix and then start pitocin the next morning. But I never got to the pitocin lol. My contractions started at around 10pm and my water broke at 12:30am. But at that point I was barely 3cm dialated. So in my head I was thinking; it's the middle of the night, my contractions are super intense because my water broke, I'm only at a 3... this could go on for hours and hours cause this is my first baby and I'm being induced. So I decided to get the epidural so I could get some rest. I wanted to have the energy to push him out lol. So I got the epidural a little after 3am and was able to sleep. Luckily my epidural was placed really well. Then a little after 7:45am the Dr. came in to check me and said I was ready to push. So I woke up my husband and the nurse came in to do some "practice pushes" with me and said "I'm gonna count back from 10, your gonna push the whole time and then rest" I got 3 seconds into the first push and she told me to stop because he was coming now lol. So they rushed the Dr. back in. Meanwhile the nurse stood guard ready to catch him if he came out on his own during my next contraction. The Dr. arrived and I got another 4 seconds into the first push and he was out. He was just ready to be here I guess 😂 only 15 minutes after being told I was ready to push! Thankfully, I didn't tear and everything went perfectly.
