Do you have to give a baby vitamin d if you breastfeed?

I’ve heard you have to give a breastfed baby vitamin d. No one in my family has ever breastfed so I’m not sure. Does anyone know? Are you supposed to just use the drops? I don’t have a pediatrician or anything yet since I’m still pregnant. I’m 23 weeks. So I am not sure who to ask.

Yep. Just a drop on your nipple or a pacifier and give to baby each day

Yes you do. I did that for my daughter, since the pediatrician said to. There are some you can buy I think in the pharmacy. I know Enfamil is a brand that has them. From what I can remember it was like 1 ml a day, just a quick squirt in their mouth.

What?? I never heard of that! I breastfed my first for two years, and NO ONE said anything to me about giving baby vitamin D. She has been perfectly healthy her whole life thus far, she's only had a couple small colds, and was never sick before one year old.

No, you don't have to.  I just made sure to expose my daughter to sunlight as much as possible.  All you need is 15 minutes a day.

It's recommended-- vitamin D doesn't pass well through breast milk. Super easy.

No you don’t have to it’s reccomened . I breast fed my middle till she was almost 4 due to a rhythmic issue she never had them and my now 7 month old has never had them. Annnnd we have never ever ever had a issue. Even my dr said it’s recommendation not  mandatory.  🤷🏻‍♀️
Just saying mine and many kids before mine have survived with out them 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ (I’m sure this will be a unpopular opinion
