Am I a failure mom?

Question

Hello ladies. My son will turn one on September 22nd but until now he doesn’t eat solid food. Please, don’t judge me because I already punish myself a lot. 
Idk what to do anymore. 
He just starts choking on the food 😢 
Any help? He eats the melts and puffs but when I try giving him other things he gags and throws up.

Take him in for a swallow study maybe?

I would talk to his pediatrician about ways to help him.

At this point I'd say that amount of gagging is not normal and he needs to see a pediatrician.

My daughter did this until about 1.5. She would gag and throw up.

Agree with the others. You are not a failure - some kids just struggle with feeding for a variety of reasons. (Our son was fed mostly through a stomach tube until recently and still struggles with many non-purée/soft foods. He’s 15mo)
Also agree have him seen ASAP and see if he can get a swallow study. Feeding has to be safe and enjoyable for him. :) If it’s not a mechanical issue with swallowing, he might also be having a sensory reaction to textures or tastes. (Our little guy does this with some things.
