Any Southern Californian moms out there? Insurance question
I have the Kaiser HMO through my employer, which has been fine (I grew up in Orange County where Kaiser is nicer than it is in Los Angeles) but I do like my OBGYN. Just found out Kaiser is having a huge strike that may land the first two weeks of October which is exactly when I should be going in for my first prenatal appt (I’ll be 8-9 weeks). Because of the strike I can’t see a doctor (not even the doctor I’ve been seeing) until 10/18. I know the strike is for a good reason and out of my control but I’m pretty upset. The wait has been horrible and now I have to wait longer. I’m debating switching insurance- I hear HMO is best if you want to not break the bank during pregnancy. My only other option is Cigna. Do any of you have good or bad experiences with Cigna and/or Kaiser? Feeling helpless. Thanks all 💕
