Changing OB?

Question

I really want to change my OB because of two reasons. 1. The practice I’m currently in has a high rate of cesarean. And 2. The OB I want to change to has tubs in their delivery rooms which is a big deal to me since I want to deliver with the least amount of medication. I’m a young FTM and I’m just curious if these are things worth changing over and if the process of changing is difficult of not. TYIA

Personally I think those are valid reasons. The process of changing can be very difficult depending on how far along you are. I know a lot of doctors won’t take you if you’re in your third trimester. If you’re thinking of changing I would do it as soon as possible no matter how far along you are.

In my opinion it’s not to late to switch until you’re 38 weeks lol. If it’s important to you then it’s valid. I switched at 14 weeks because my OB pushed natural births and wouldn’t do an anatomy scan unless I paid out of pocket. It’s not really a hassle and will be worth it if your needs are met. My new OB is amazing and I’m glad I switched.

It depends on how many weeks you are. A lot of OBs, at least the ones I work with won’t take new patients on after so many weeks. You can always call the office and ask.
