Delayed lactation/low supply
My baby was born premature with a lot of problems and spent 4 weeks in the NICU. I had extremely delayed lactation (milk didn’t come in for almost 2 weeks) and then continued to struggle with low supply. There were a lot of factors I was told contributed to my supply problems. I have seen improvement progressively, but not much. I’m only pumping about an ounce from both breasts combined every 2-3 hours, which is only half of what my LO eats. I’ve tried absolutely everything to try and increase my supply.
What I am wondering is if anyone has had delayed lactation and low supply and eventually saw an increase this late in the game? I’m not going to give up because I know every bit of my milk I’m able to provide is great for my son, but I don’t want to continue with the power pumping and all the other exhausting things if it’s too late and my supply has just reached its peak.
