Has anyone had a vaginal birth after 3rd degree tear?

Hi! With my first I had to have an episiotomy (5 years ago) and now I’m pregnant again my midwife keeps telling me that I may have to have a c section with this one! I don’t really want to have a c section, has anybody had a vaginal birth after a episiotomy or a tear? Thanks x

Has a third degree episiotomy with my first, had my second vaginally as well with just some small upwards tearing(they’re 8 years apart). There was never talk oh a csection

I had a very painful 2nd degree tear with my first, had a huge scar, but nobody even asked how bad my tear was when I was pregnant again. And during my second birth I tore just a little bit.

I had a natural 3rd degree tear with my first with a vacuum assisted delivery of a 8lb 15oz boy. 
Just had my second baby a month ago, he was 9lb 9oz. Only pushed for 10 mins max this time, and no vacuum assistance required. They did perform an episiotomy to the left (with my permission) to help avoid tearing the scar tissue in between my vagina and anus from the prior 3rd degree tear. The episiotomy didn't extended at all with the delivery and was a lot better pain wise to heal in my case. There's a chance I may not have tore at all this time around but I really didn't want to chance it since the scar tissue gave me issues for so long after having my first.
