Are my boyfriend and I stupid??

Question

So I recently just started having sex this summer when I was 17. Heres the thing: I’ve never used a condom. Now ive only been having sex with my boyfriend and hes the only person. I always knew that condoms were a must but for some reason now that we just dont use them we’ve never thought about using one?!? Are we stupid because I think we are. We already had one pregnancy scare and my boyfriend had to steal some pregnancy tests from CVS , I just dont want to go through that again. But the thought of having sex with a condom sounds ass (even though i understand thats a childish thing to say) but....I need advice. How do i tell my boyfriend I want to use condoms?

You can get free condoms. Just come out & say it

Emmy boyfriend and I used a condom until we knew we were clean. After that we pulled out. Guess who got pregnant 9 months later? Yeah pulling out will almost always end in pregnancy at some point, it’s a ticking time bomb. Please get on reliable birth control if you don’t want to use condoms.

There’s about 18 red flags in this that tell me neither of you is ready to be having sex. But since you’re doing it anyway, for God’s sake, use protection. Condom is best and it’s important for you to be able to be honest with the person you’re intimate with about your needs - both safety and pleasure wise - or you have no business being intimate. That said, if you really can’t and are still just gonna do it anyway, see your doc ASAP and get the pill, implant or IUD. If either of you think buying a pregnancy test is too expensive, try raising a child and struggling through the rest of your schooling as a working parent.

Unless you want a baby I suggest getting on birth control fast. I don't have to tell you that stealing a test is clearly wrong as you can buy tests very very cheap. We've all made mistakes growing up but it's how you learn from them mistakes and grow. Think about what you want and decide from there ☺️

This was right around when I first started having sex (17 turning 18) and my boyfriend at the time was the one who said we should both get tested for STDs and also use condoms at first until I was taking birth control and it would be effective in preventing pregnancy which takes a couple weeks...
At the time I didn’t appreciate how on top of it he was but he explained that even from giving oral... someone could get an STD. It’s super super unlikely but it’s so important to get tested and know what your partner could potentially give to you. It’s important to know so you can prepare to live a life with that STD... my boyfriend at the time had been more sexually active than me... but he was more responsible. 
I had lots of friends have pregnancy scares too... running into CVS and waiting for the results. Some of them positive... let me just say that’s the worst feeling in the world if your arent prepared for it. Some got abortions (one friend 2 abortions in one year...) now that is irresponsible. Its something that changes you... having an abortion. Its a really dark time for my friends who had one. It sounds like you can’t even afford one which most highschool students can’t. 
Can you talk to an adult (you can talk to your doctor in confidence about birth control) and getting on birth control. Get tested too?       
If you aren’t ready to talk about these things with your boyfriend, then I don’t think you are ready to have sex. Don’t be naive and something could happen to change your life drastically. Sorry not trying to scare you but this is serious
