Re-learning to breastfeed
So my little one is 4.5 months old now. When I gave birth I started off trying to breastfeed but ended up getting a breast abscess (which subsequently bursted) and I had to have breast surgery. However I was extremely lucky and was still able to pump. I am now fully healed and still bottle feeding my baby breast milk but I REALLY really want to breastfeed my son so that we can have that precious bonding and I can feed him long-term.
Has anyone been able to go from bottle feeding back to breastfeeding after this long? Any recommendations?
I am feeling very sad and mourning the loss of being able to breastfeed my baby.. (plus the hassle of hours and hours of pumping to maintain my supply). I have already set up an appointment with a Lactation specialist but would like to know if any of you ladies have been able to do this successfully or have any tips.
Please, anything helps
