Getting induced, pros and cons

So this is my second child and Im 39 +2 and Im waiting on my hosp to ring me for an induction date. Iv never had one only heard horror stories. My consultant said they start with a non chemical induction and then if that doesn't work they break the waters and then if nothing happens they start with the drugs. Im thinking of trying the nom chemical part and if nothing happens just waiting till the bab is ready to come.

To those who have had it is it really as bad as people say?
