How do you feel about medicine?

I try to avoid medicine unless my pain is really bad. For example, if I have a headache or cramps I usually try to just push through it. I just plain out don't like it. My boyfriend on the hand, if he doesn't feel well then he always takes medicine. What are your thoughts about it? Do you like taking medicine or do you try to avoid it?

I’m not big on it, but, if I feel like I need it, I will take it. I usually won’t take anything other than Tylenol or Motrin, though.

I have never taken any medicine in my life. Until I gave birth. Had an epidural because the nurse said it was my best bet if I wanted to avoid a c-section. I agreed but I was SO SCARED. So they put it in and gave me one dose, it was the only dose I ever needed, cause in an instant the pain was just GONE it felt warm and fuzzy, I burst with energy. They did their thing to turn my baby's face the right way and I pushed him out easy. I'm convinced it wouldn't have worked THIS well if my body had been used to pain medicine.

It depends. If it's just a minor ache or something I'll ride it out till Tylenol is absolutely needed. Got a horrible cold? Pass the DayQuil please(when not pregnant)

I have chronic pain (diagnosed don’t come for me) so without pain medicine I’d be even worse off. But I like reaching for natural pain relief. And I personally avoid medicine for my anxiety.

I’ll always take an ibuprofen if I have a headache or cramps. However if I’m prescribed something more potent, I’ll only take it as long as I need it

I try my best to avoid it. Your body is made to take care of it’s self to an extent. I obviously go to the dr when I need to and take meds when I absolutely have to, but I try to avoid if I can. I try not to take anything for a headache if I can help it.

I wait for a bit usually but not too long as it usually gets worse. Saying that, I don't usually take pills - for my body I find pain gel more effective and for headaches, a sticky cold strip for your forehead. Period pain I have pills but they often don't help. I don't want it to be more unbearable than it is though. I have chronic illness so I already have a lot of other symptoms and want to deal with pain if I can. When I was younger and before I got my illness, I would just try and struggle through best I can

After being on medication for debilitating depression/anxiety for 8 years straight and fighting all the horrible side effects, I decided to wean off all medications when I was 19 and haven't turned back. Life's better when you sort your chemistry out naturally through therapy, diet, exercise, etc if possible. As for cold medicine or allergy meds, I'll definitely take them.
