Hospital Bills
(Disclaimer: I'm in the US, so I don't know if this is the case everywhere else.)
I don't think people who havent had miscarriages think about the fact that miscarriages cost money a lot of the time. And I say this because I didnt think about it until having miscarriages. One of my miscarriages was at 18 weeks, so I had to go to the hospital and be induced, then had to have a D&C to get the placenta out, because it wouldn't come out on its own. This cost my husband and I around $2000 after insurance paid their part. We had to pay $2000 to lose our baby. And even early miscarriages of which I've had one, you have to pay for the prenatal visits you DO have along with imaging and lab. Even something as early as a chemical pregnancy which I've also had one of, you have to pay for lab and possibly imaging.
Especially after our 2nd trimester miscarriage it was like a huge kick in the gut to get all the hospital bills a couple weeks after losing our baby. 😔😔
