Period after birth?

I gave birth 6 weeks ago and stopped bleeding but all of a sudden my bleeding has come back and it’s very heavy, I’ve also been having back pain and extreme mood swings, I’m wondering if this is a period or don’t they come back this early? I haven’t had my 6 week check up yet I’m hoping everything is okay down there, when did ya’ll stop bleeding and has anybody experienced this?
