Curious ...

I saw this recent tweet about this topic so it made me curious what others thought.

So most people agree obviously that being drunk means you can not give consent to have sex, because you’re not in the right state of mind and anyone that does have sex with you while intoxicated is in fact taking advantage of you. Unless maybe you or your partner have spoken beforehand and agree that you are okay with having sex with them while intoxicated.

So does that mean that men that cheat while drunk should be excused from cheating because they arent in the right state of mind as well?

The argument i saw is that it’s hypocritical to say that drunk women arent stable enough or in their right mind to give consent, but that people that cheat are still held accountable for having sex with someone else while intoxicated. Because if they were under the influence they werent in the right state of mind and could say they were taken advantage of as well.
