Bitter old man or is he right?

We found out my SIL is pregnant with her 2nd. Her LO is 16months now and we are happy for them. I get it that she's 35 and it took over a year to have her first but this time it worked faster than they expected. 
My FIL was not so happy, he commented he doesn't get it why it had to be so quick, their first can't even walk or sleep in her own bed yet they have a second one. 
The outburst surprised us, my fiance says he's getting old and bitter. He doesn't seem so keen to see his grandkids. What do you make of this?

Why does he even care? If he’s not financially supporting them then really he doesn’t get a say in when they have more children.

Seems bitter. I would be upset if that my father saying that. My daughter is 2 and ever since we got out of the hospital with her as a newborn people were pressuring us to try for another. I think no matter what someone in the family is going to be upset with timeline of things.

Anyway there’s a 2 year gap between each of us 4 kids in my family and it was the perfect amount 🤷🏻‍♀️

From someone who struggled to get pregnant the first time and “finally” had one after IVF and loses and then surprisingly got pregnant naturally with the second, I think people should mind their business about timing. It’s not always in our control and we can’t always do things they we (and definitely not the way others) want. He should just be happy for them and keep it to himself.

My FIL was excited then when our son got off oxygen he stopped wanting him to come stay. "I'm not a damn babysitter" It's not like we ever asked him to watch him cause we need him to. We ask cause he figure it's been awhile since he's seen him and he might want us to come up for a few hours.
