Do you expect the other parent to take care of your child when you’re sick?

Do you expect the other parent to take care of your child when you are sick? What if you coparent, is it still the same answer?

I just get more help from him than usual, but for the most part I'm still the main one doing everything

Usually when I get a cold, I’m able to take care of our son. Things might get done slowly and I might move around slow but I can do it. If it’s the flu or a serious virus/cold my husband stays home from work to take care of me and our son. But thankfully my son started school last year usually when my son gets home my husband is already home or on his way home

Yes and no, depends how sick I am. If it’s a cold, I’d just deal with it. I had salmonella a couple months ago and my SO took time off of work since I was so nauseated I could barely get out of bed. He also works from home so he has a bit more flexibility. But in general, yes, if I’m sick, he helps out a lot more during his work day.

You are contagious before your symptoms start showing to begin with. Tons of single parents have no choice but to do this plus parents who live together, the germs are going to be everywhere regardless. Unless you’re dying I still expect you to take care of the child

my husband always just has, it isn’t something i really expected or demand. if i’m really sick he’ll take PTO so i’m not miserable all day and he takes care of the kid’s :)
