Might be long, but I really really need some help!

My husband and I run a business together. It’s both of our full time jobs.

Recently we signed a client that confirmed that they were going to pay upfront the full amount.

He agreed on the invoice before and after it was sent.

This cheque was supposed to be $10,000. It would have paid off some bills and helped get us though the slowest and hardest time of the year.

We were also hoping to start trying for a baby in January and this cheque would have put us in a much better and comfortable place to start trying, and would have eased a lot of my stress.

The cheque came in the mail today. It was only for $700. Last minute, after the client had already agreed and signed off on the invoice, he decided to pay in small increments instead of the whole thing up front like he agreed on.

I am devastated. We can’t afford to pay off certain bills now and I don’t feel like we will be in a good place to try for a baby without that money. We also most likely won’t be able to get each other the things we would have liked to for Christmas.

My husband says I’m exaggerating and being ridiculous.

He’s being obnoxiously optimistic saying everything will be fine, when I feel like everything has gone bad for us lately.

He’s making me feel guilty for being upset about this.

There’s nothing we can do about the client. And there’s really no hope for getting that kind of money by the new year.

I feel hopeless and in a very dark place, and I feel like I can’t talk to my husband about it because he just gets frustrated with my “bad attitude.”

This whole year has been awful and everything we do seems to not end the way we wanted and hoped for. We’ve had a long string of terrible luck lately.

I’m not even sure what I’m asking here, really. Maybe just some words of encouragement or people with similar stories.

I’m just feeling so sad and don’t have anyone to talk to about it.
