Yeast infection

I had a yeast infection that wouldn’t go away when I was pregnant (3months ago) due to having gestational diabetes . After I gave birth I waited until the 6 weeks check up for my doctor to check it out and test me . She looked inside and said everything looks fine, she don’t see any yeast . Fast forward I still had a smell and realized the dove soap I use was mild instead of unscented. So I switched to unscented and had them prescribed me pills to treat BV . Well I STILL have the smell like yeast . Which I know it’s a yeast infection because I had it during both of my pregnancies because of GD . I got some like off brand kind of monistat and didn’t know I was allowed to use it during period (I did 2 days . Then my period came then did the rest of 5 days after period) I made a appt to get it checked out but they was full until December 2nd . I still have the appt scheduled but I’m just thinking this is alittle too long to wait . I damn near had this for over 3 months ! Will monistat 7 cure 3 months worth of yeast or should I just wait for my doctors appointment ? And I haven’t had sex since January so I know it’s nothing Sex related or the doctors would’ve caught that during my pregnancy
