Bathroom renovation help?

We purchased a fixer upper and this is what I have to work with in the bathroom... any creative ideas what I can do with this space, besides completely replace it? I’ve had curtains over it but wondering if there is something else I can do?

Replace the whole thing and custom make something for that space. Measure it and get a nice cabinet with drawers and doors at the bottom. Nicer sink and faucet. 
From experience (we own our home as well and we remodeled top to bottom.) whatever you try to do, to maybe save a few bucks, it will end up in vain because you won’t really be happy with it until it actually looks decent. Even with shelves under it, you can still see the pipe and all that. It needs the bottom part- the cabinet. Once that is done, it will look 1000 times better. And taking the time to do that, might as well get it all done at once. IKEA has relatively good priced bathroom sinks /faucets/cabinet ideas. It’s a place to start.. at least get some ideas and see if you can work that into your budget

Im not sure what your style is but you could do a butcher block counter in there and a vessel sink. Like the picture. Or you can paint the counter to look like marble or granite snd psint the room a light grey and paint the cabinets navy blue with gold accents including the faucets.

Add some cabinets. You can do that with out removing the counter top and sink.

I like it better without the curtains. Maybe repaint the front a light grey and replace the knobs, something more modern. Maybe add a subway tile backsplash, and replace the mirror with a oval or circle shape. Looks really boxy now.
