Ok what is she doing ?

Hey mommas , Wednesday evening I started having mild contractions which picked up through out the night and morning . I wasn’t dilated or effaced . I went to the Er yesterday long to find out I was 4cm dilated . They sent me home to finish laboring and here I am last night contractions again and woke up to noting . It’s so inconsistent. I’m wondering if I should go back to see if last nights contractions moved me further along but I don’t want to waste anyone’s time
