Re-pierce my tongue?

Hi guys! So I’m facing a dilemma:
I had my tongue pierced back in April 2017, I took it out like 6 months ago because it was pierced wrong and it was rubbing on my gums. I loved my tongue piercing so so much and my boyfriend met me when I had it, the first 9 months of our relationship I had it but then took it out. I’m torn on getting it redone because I really really miss it a lot but the healing initially suckssss and my boyfriend pretty much told me in his opinion he’d rather I not get it redone. He’s not the type of person that would necessarily be like a dick if I did get it redone but My ex HATED that I got it done and from then on literally wouldn’t make out with me because of it so now I have ptsd over it. Lol. What do you guys think? I want it back so bad but I’m a baby about actually physically getting it repierced and I’m notttt looking forward to healing it again :/
UPDATE: I did it!! Just re-pierced it less than an hour ago, I’m so happy I did it and it’s straight and centered now and not rubbing at all!! I’m sooooo excited

I got my tongue done at 16 but took it out at 20 because it was done badly and rubbing against the gums on my front, bottom teeth. Was sick of the dentist complaining every time too 😒 But 3 years later I decided I wanted it again. I went to the guy that pierced my mom's daith and asked him if he could redo it because when I was 16 they complained that I had a short tongue (and to make the piercing fit they had to make it slanted, mhm sure 🙄). He said yeah, no problem. So he redid it and it's straight and doesn't rub. But my gums are permanently receded a bit from the first go 🤷‍♀️ Nothing awful but I feel it and run my tongue over it daily out of paranoia.
I'm happy with my repierced tongue ☺️
So I say if you trust the piercer, go for it!

If he doesn’t like it just get it but also get a clear tongue piercing retainer and take out your regular piercing before you see him and put that one on. They’re super small and barely noticeable unless you point it out. I have one too and I know the healing sucks but I would get it redone if I had to cause I love it and think it was worth it. I know I’ll have to pull it out eventually for basic training next year. But I’m planning on getting it redone for sure after:) hope this helps

Healing will suck sooo bad especially because you have already had it done. BUT you do you! If you really want it, get it! You can always take it out again and heal up, who cares if your man likes it or not. If it's your money and it's your body, do what you want :)
