What’s your opinion??

My husband is in the army & we have 2 kids together. 1 is his bio son & his oldest is his stepson.

I’m curious your opinion on this...

So in the army you get like a certain amount of money in case anything should ever happen to your soldier (I think it’s only if passing is overseas in a combat zone, idk tho) so kind of like life insurance.

My husband decided WITHOUT talking to me that his mother should get half of the money. She would get $200,000.

Is that fair?

I’m a stay at home mom so if my husband should pass away I would be left with no income till I can finish school.

I feel like his mom should definitely get some money at least because she’s low income but i also feel like HALF is a little ridiculous. I would love to see my boys each get 25,000 in a little savings account & her get 75. & then i get 300 so i could pay off our house and cars and go to school. Idk though.

What’s your opinion?

*edit to add his mother didn’t raise him, his grandmother also had custody and mainly raised him

**for the lady who commented that my wording implied that I was hoping my husband would die in combat, if you’re reading this... Fuck you for even thinking I would mean that. First of all i typed this up at 5 am after a few hours of sleep. And second, That’s absolutely awful for you to ever imply . I would never wish or hope that. My husband is my entire world. Saying i would love for my kids to get this amount is me saying simply that. As a military spouse unfortunately you have to plan for those things especially when you have children because my main goal will always be to protect them. IF, GOD FORBID my husband did pass away I would want my sons to get money in savings accounts & his mother to have some money too & I would need money to pay off our debt, cars & house, bills, a funeral & I would need an education as i haven’t worked in years.
