Sex before postpartum check up

Hi ladies! I had my baby boy on October 26th by vaginal birth. I ended up having a third degree tear and it took about 3 1/2-4 weeks before feeling any better down there. I will be 6 weeks post partum on Saturday however my dr cannot see me until January 6th which at that point I will be nearly 11 weeks PP! My boyfriend and I only had sex one time while I was pregnant and it was 5 mins of discomfort for me 🤪 sooo we are really longing for some intimacy and love making. MUST I wait to be cleared by my dr first? What are the risks? Obviously if I need to wait another month I will, I’m just curious to hear others experience/advice! Thank you!!!
