Period Mystery

Okay so my bf and I are TTC and have been for about 2 months now. My period was supposed to start in the middle of last month and was 13 days late, I was sick, and moody, my boobs swelled etc but the tests were negative. Then one morning I went to the bathroom and found spotting. Spotted for 2 days, then had about and hour super heavy flow then went back to spotting. On day 10 of mostly spotting (yesterday) my flow turned ridiculously heavy, continuing into today. Why wont my period stop?! The blood is fresh and bright red and I dont have insurance to go to a OBGYN right now. I am freaking out! Anyone have any similar experience??
