Stressed and frustrated 😥

Jess • dog and baby human mom. Just doing my best.

So I’m back to work after having my little girl back in September. Everyone at my job is great, they are all super understanding, flexible about me working at home a lot, etc. But the pumping situation here has become so frustrating. When I went out on leave we were in a building with a great mothering room (keypad on the door, comfy chair, little refrigerator, could even book it in our conference room system to make sure you had access to it). However, we moved offices while I was out.

The new office SUCKS. nobody really likes our seating situation but also, there is no dedicated mothering space. Our bathroom has a nice little entryway with couches and I didn’t mind using that (the couches are nowhere near the toilets or anything, and I have the wearable willow pumps so they aren’t visible) but people kept coming in and being scandalized that I was “made” to pump in the bathroom. So our office services people have now been finding me random offices to sit in (offices of higher up people who aren’t in that day). It’s so awkward! I never know where I’m going to be sitting and I have to bother the office services people every day to find out what office I can use. I got myself a little tiny fridge at my desk to keep the milk in so that’s nice, but my baby is only three months old and I want to breastfeed her for at least a year. We are supposed to move office space again this summer (which is why they aren’t putting in a dedicated mothering space yet) but the thought of doing this for another six months is more exhausting than the pumping itself. 😓
