Hoping to increase supply by pumping

I would love some advice..

So I’ve read that pumping after a feeding can help increase my supply, and have been double pumping with electric pumps after feeds. I wait about 20min after nursing to begin pumping.

When I check the pump though, I barely get anything because I guess the baby depleted my supply? There’s maybe enough to cover the base of the bottle each time. (I get up to 3.5oz or so when I pump in the middle of the night about 3hrs after feeding so it’s not the pump although I’m not getting as much as I’d like.)

Is this really helping? It’s really annoying to clean the pump each time for a few drops of milk, and I’m getting discouraged. Should I keep at it or try something new?
