Progesterone shots?

I am curious to see what your experiences with getting progesterone shots are.  My last baby I delivered at 31 weeks, so we are hoping to keep this baby cooking until full term this time. My doctor told me the research on progesterone shots is that it MIGHT help, and definitely won’t hurt anything but the choice is mine. Anyone with preterm labor history feel like it helped?

With my last pregnancy I took daily progesterone shots until 20+ weeks due being high risk to preterm labor from a previous pregnancy, the doctors then gave me a choice to take myself off of them or stay on them. I slowly transitioned myself off of them by 25 weeks. I actually had to be induced with my son during that pregnancy at 39+3 with a successful vbac. Just wanted to share my experience with you! I'm not a huge help lol but.. I'm 14 wks with my second and I'm going to start progesterone soon. My first came naturally at 35wks so I'd also like for this one to stay in longer! I am experienced with the NICU now but would love to avoid that.
I was only told that it would help and I should ask for it. I'm not going to question how much it'll help since my contractions were stopped at 28wks with my first. So I'm just open to it and I'll take anything to help ☺️
