So beyond frustrated & scared. The whole medical field where I live is screwed up.

Trying to make a long story short. I have a healthy 4 year old boy. We’ve been trying for a year for baby #2. I had 2 miscarriages in that time and I’m finally 26 weeks with our rainbow. Well I’ve had a weird discharge since March. (Like green and disgusting). Sorry tmi. So I told my OB about it and she kept brushing it off as “normal”. I’m like there’s no way this is normal. All of her tests came back “normal”.. BV, yeast, trich, chlamydia, gonorrhea, all STD’s .. negative. Come to find out there’s a test she could’ve ran for something else but her lab doesn’t do the test and she won’t switch labs so I guess that’s why she kept brushing it off. I knew something was wrong. Finally I found an OB who does the test I need. I switched Ob’s at 21 weeks. They do the test and find out I have an E. Coli infection.. in my vagina. 😫 so they give me an antibiotic that doesn’t work for e. Coli.. wtf. I take the antibiotic, trusting them (this was before I looked into it), obviously nothing changes. I call back and ask them to switch it bc it didn’t work. Nurse sounds irritated, waits til the next day, and proceeds to call me in ANOTHER antibiotic that won’t kill E. coli 😑 now at this point I’m terrified for my baby. I’ve had this infection since before I was even pregnant. Everything I’ve read says an E. coli infection is the leading cause of newborn sepsis and it can cause premature rupture of the membranes and chorioamnionitis.. I feel like I’m racing the clock to get this taken care of and no one is on my side. I don’t know what to do. I don’t even feel confident in my OB anymore and I don’t feel like as a patient, I should need to call and explain the difference between aerobic and anaerobic bacteria to them. I’m just scared. 😓
