What do you do when people are driving erratically?

Question

This lady was going about 70 mph in our residential area around the time school buses start to drop off. It wasn’t necessarily a “neighborhood” but there are tons of houses and it’s a very hilly street, so it could’ve easily turned into an accident or someone getting hurt. I took a picture of her license plate and almost called the police but she finally slowed down. I guess she saw me taking the picture. What do you do when you see people driving obnoxiously, especially if it’s putting others at risk?

If someone blows by my house going 70mph, I’m calling the police. If I’m driving on the highway and someone is driving fast and erratically, I just slow down and get out of their way.

Call the police, always. I've had to call on a woman who was swerving all over the road while texting. On my way home later, there were police everywhere. And I saw her car and a motorcycle in the road. Turns out she hit and killed a motorcyclist right in front of my road. I wish I could have seen her earlier, but I called as soon as I saw her. Maybe if someone else had called before I'd seen her, that guy would still be alive. Moral of the story is, if they're driving dangerously, always call. It could save someone's life.

I've called 911 on people clearly driving drunk,high, or extremely tired on the interstate, twice. Once during Mardi gras season and another time during Thanksgiving. I live in Louisiana and driving is a large part of our culture. I didn't feel bad about it at all.

If it's really bad and they seem to be under the influence or a real danger to others I will call the police. But if someone is just being the normal asshole on the road then I dont do anything.

I get out of the way. I remember when my fil was having a heart attack. My husband turned on his emergency lights and off we went. You never know what’s going on

You mind my business.  As someone who listens to police radios all night, I can tell you that the majority of the time they close out the call, because they have too many other important things going on and they can’t send officers on a wild goose chase. They’ll typically only send someone out if the caller is following the car.

Well, if you were driving as well and took the picture 
You were driving more dangerously than her and risking more to take a picture than someone speeding for a minute 
But if you were standing on the street that’s different.

Call the cops. 
A few weeks ago there was a guy on the interstate drinking coffee with his laptop out driving with his knees and going way over 80. This man was literally bouncing off the cement lane separators! His front bumper and rear view mirrors even flew off😱 But he just kept on trucking and sipping his coffee. After I got out of his way, I called the police with the make and model of his car, license plate, and location he was headed.

If I’m driving, I stay far away, it’s not worth risking my children and mines safety. I live in a subdivision on a corner lot that has a 4 way stop, and people blow it all the time. I have my kids play in our fenced in yard.
