Anyone from New Jersey? Maternity leave question 🤔

Hi ladies, I’m hoping someone could help me understand how everything works. I’m from Europe and the family leave programs are something very new to me.

I’m 32 weeks pregnant and I was planing to stay home 3 weeks before my due date (which is Febr 18). My company where I work told me that I can get 4 weeks before my due date and then I can stay another 6 weeks with the baby (using disability) and then another 6 weeks using something else (I think FMLA).

I have 7 weeks of sick time that I can use and they want me to use it all before my disability kicks in. So if I take 7 weeks of sick time starting with the 3 weeks before the baby is born that means I’m covered until I get to 4 weeks after the baby is born. I’m thinking after that I get disability 6 weeks and that’s going to bring me to 10 weeks after the baby is born. My question is - is disability 6 weeks or 10 weeks? From my understanding disability supposed to kick 4 weeks before you have your baby if you want to use it. In my case I had sick time so it didn’t apply. My question is, are the 4 weeks carrying over to make it to 10 weeks instead of 6?

Going back to my plan, after 10 weeks what do I apply for to be paid for another 2 weeks to make it to 12 weeks? My goal is to be home with the baby for 12 weeks and to be paid. I also have 1 week of PTO and some vacation time...

What would it be best to do in my situation?

Thank you!
