Anybody else’s S.O. chose video games over family?

He chooses playing xbox over spending time with me a his baby. Doesn’t help around the house nothing. It wouldn’t be a problem if he didn’t do it literally all day long! Then when he finally decides he will spend time with us he falls asleep! Then gets upset when I get mad about it. Feeling neglected. Wish we were priorities.

Sounds like you're in a relationship with a child 🤷🏻‍♀️ I wouldn't have had a baby with him in the first place. Find a man and you won't have this issue.

My husband LOVES video games. BUT... He has NEVER put video games before me and our LO. When we were dating we would play them together or he would play when I wasn't around. When we got married he would play maybe an hour or so in the evening and then come watch a movie with me. Now that we have a LO he barley plays anymore. Ocassionally he will play on the weekend while our LO is napping but that's it. When you get married and have a family your responsibilities and priorities shift. My husband never let his passion for video games get on the way of our relationship or the relationship with our son. And that's how it should be. Moderation in everything in life is key. I've had frequent conversation with my husband through out our 15 year relationship about my expectations. I am a very blunt person. Men don't understand hints. Have a talk with him and tell him how you feel.

My boyfriend is like that but if I ask him to do anything he will do it. He still holds our son and plays with him, he just likes playing so I let him unless I’m in need of help. The only way to change any of that is communication and if that doesn’t help then leave him.
