Protein in urine

My midwife ordered a urinalysis and additional blood work at my last appointment bc of some shortness of breath and leg numbness that I’ve been having. My blood pressure in the office that day was also 140/89. Well she called me today and said there’s a formulary she uses to assess protein in urine and my numbers were about 1% elevated. She said she’s not “too worried” but ordered a 24 hour urine for further assessment. Has anyone ever had protein in their urine and not diagnosed with preeclampsia? I’m freaking out that she’s blowing off something that could be more serious for baby or me.

Update: I shouldn’t have used the term “blowing it off” what I meant is that I felt like she was downplaying it. I would rather she’d just said I found some protein in your urine and I’d like to do some additional testing instead of saying she’s not too worried.
