How long did it take to get your LO to fall asleep on their own?

Question

I started using the method provided by Taking Care Babies to try to get LO to fall asleep on their own.. If you used this, how long did it take you to get your LO to fall asleep without sleep props (i.e rocking, pacifier, feeding). I'm just curious, I started this at bedtime only. I do know that every baby is different and some do better than others... But just curious!

My daughter was falling asleep on her own at 1-2 months but at 3 months she started fighting it so we’re trying to teach her again. We’re starting by putting her down “sleepy but awake”, so I rock her until her eyes are starting to get droopy then put her down and she USUALLY will fall asleep on her own

I decided to rock my son to sleep as long as he needs and he uses a soother only for bedtime... he’s a year now and I’m starting to wish I did it when everyone told me to...

We also used taking Cara babies and I was TERRIFIEDDDD of doing it haha. My LO is very particular and cries easily, screams actually lol. It took her 3 nights to learn how to fall asleep on her own and with no bottle before bed (check with your ped to make sure that’s okay!!  We were previously rocking her until sound asleep and giving a bottle before bed, stopped cold turkey with her method and she only cried for 7 mins the first night. Good luck!! Stick to it and be consistent - they are so much smarter than we give them credit for! Your LO’s got this and so do you!
