Best age gap? And why?

What age gap do you have, and what are the pros/cons?

All three of my babies are roughly 3 years apart. I wanted the youngest out of diapers before having another baby. My older sister and I are 3 years apart as well and I feel it was a good age gap for us as siblings.

Mine are 26 months apart. He’s 3 and she’s 1 now, I think it’s perfect and I honestly don’t have any cons other than sharing toys lol

2.5 years...it just happened that way but it's a good gap. My sons old enough to understand but young enough to not be too jealous

My kiddos are 18 months and 4 months old. We didn’t plan it this way- we struggled for 6 years and had 2 losses before conceiving our first. We got pregnant with our 2nd when 1st was 6 months old- not trying but not preventing. It’s definitely hard having 2 under 2. Trying to coordinate naps. Lots of diapers. Trying to nurse/ feed baby while my toddler is getting into stuff, climbing the stairs, tantrums etc. the hardest part for me is the sleep deprivation. And I’m a stay at home mom - I don’t drive so we are stuck in the house a lot. Winter in Wisconsin makes it hard to get out unless my partner is home to help. My best advice I’d have the older one on a good bedtime routine before having a second kiddo. Pros for me are that I’m done having kids - partner just got a vasectomy a month ago 🙌🏻. I like that my kids will be close in age, get to go to school together. When we are able to do more family activities they’ll be close enough developmentally that one won’t have to sit out. And I’ll be getting all the sleep deprivation out of the way right away. If I decide I want more kids in the future we will foster/ and or adopt.

Mine are 2.5 years apart. My first is old enough to help (when he wants) and still young enough to play with him, like my first loves all the toys the baby got for Christmas. But I was still hoping to have more 1-on-1 time with my first before having a sibling, and paying for 2 in daycare at the same time is tough (but I like that they get to do daycare together), and I still find it difficult to juggle the demands of a 3yo and a baby. Our original plan was to have 4-5 years between kids but we got surprised, sometimes I still wish we’d waited longer.

I only have 5.5 month old right now but I hope to be pregnant on her 2nd birthday. If the universe is in my favor I’d like to be pregnant a month or 2 before her second bday. She’s a July baby so I’d like to have a winter baby this time, somewhere between dec & feb due date

I only have 1 so far but I think 2-3 years is a good gap. They'll still be close in age, so they'll grow up like that AND both won't be in diapers at the same time. Saves a bit of money and stress I think

Mine are almost 10 years apart. The only con is that my body isn’t how it used to be 10 years ago when I had my first. I used to be able to get on the floor, play outside, etc but now, my body crackles and pops and I have aches and pains like there’s no tomorrow. I still do everything with my second that I did with my first, it’s just harder.

We originally wanted a 2-3 year gap, but we’re going to have about 15 months instead😆
