How did you know 1 child is enough?

How did you know your family was complete with one child. My husband and I keep thinking our family is complete with one child but then I get moments of doubt that she will be lonely without a sibling. What made you know you were one and done?

I’m done at 2. I knew I was done while pregnant with my 2nd. I personally don’t mind pregnancy or giving birth. I love my babies with all my heart but the screaming, crying, whining and sleep deprivation is why I decided 2 was enough. My kiddos are 18 months and 4 months old. My partner had a vasectomy 🙌🏻 a month ago.

I'm an only child and wish my parents had been able to give me a sibling. My mom passed away in 2007 and my dad in June 2019. I'm alone now without them and without a brother or sister it was hard dealing with the losses on my own. Its lonely. I thankfully have my husband and my 5 kids (due with #6 Sept) and love a large family. I cant imagine having just one.

I thought I only wanted 1. Then when going to parks and such I would feel sad that everybody had a sibling to play with and she was always alone & would get ignored when she would try to approach kids to play. So we decided on having 1 more baby. 
2 is good for us.

After I lost half my blood volume during delivery and could have bled out and died. Had that not happened, I would have been okay with 2.

I personally hate the idea of "giving your child a sibling." The second child should be for the parents, not for the first child. If you want them to have friends, make sure they go to playgroups and school, etc. Or have other family (cousins) over. Siblings don't guarantee friendships (my husband is one of six and he's not friends with any of them). 
If YOU want a second child, have one. But not for them, for you.

I have 2 older brothers but we're 11 and 6 years apart. This basically made me an only child. I always longed for a sibling but knew I'd never get one. 
I never planned on having only one child but circumstances were that. Im finally having a second and my son at 16 is ecstatic! I was worried about the age gap but I think we will be ok. Now im debating having a third so the little one has someone closer in age lol
I think you're done when you don't feel a longing anymore. When you can honestly say this is it this is exactly how it is supposed to be.
